The Last Dinner Party Release New Single "Knocking At The Sky," Deluxe Edition of "From The Pyre" Out Now

London band The Last Dinner Party released new single "Knocking At The Sky" on Thursday, July 9, 2026, alongside a deluxe edition of their second album From The Pyre. The band has called it "the last story from The Pyre" — a track set in a fictionalized, mythologized version of Los Angeles, released with a music video directed by Sinclair Bryant.

"Knocking At The Sky" was the last song The Last Dinner Party recorded with producer Animesh Raval at Church Studios in Crouch End, London. In a statement, the band described the song's setting as "a surreal wonderland version of Los Angeles populated by Brothers Grimm characters," tying into the album's broader focus on storytelling and world-building.

The video draws visual inspiration from Hollywood noir leading ladies, horror-movie scream queens, and the underground film aesthetic of John Waters. The song was actually first played live back in December 2025 at London's O2 Academy Brixton, and has since become a setlist regular — most recently performed on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Madrid's Mad Cool festival.

The deluxe edition of From The Pyre adds "Knocking At The Sky" alongside 2026 single "Big Dog" and its spoken-word companion piece "Come All You Beasts." NME gave the original From The Pyre four stars, calling it "a darker, more mature return."

What's next

Last weekend, The Last Dinner Party opened for Wolf Alice at London's Finsbury Park. This summer they'll also play Latitude and Wilderness festivals as part of an ongoing run through the UK and Europe. Later this year and into 2027, they're set to support both Sombr and Olivia Rodrigo on US tour dates.

Frontwoman Abigail Morris has also recently teamed up with Lucia & The Best Boys on single "Big Romance," and the band contributed "Let's Do It Again!" to the War Child charity compilation Help(2) earlier this year.
