From Lilith Fair to Daisy Chains Field

Manson said Rodrigo called the band personally to invite them, bypassing the usual manager-to-manager negotiation. She told The Guardian that skipping the manager step was "very unusual."

Daisy Chains Field is modeled directly on Lilith Fair, the touring festival Sarah McLachlan founded in 1997 that showcased female musicians and became a commercial success. Garbage turned down the invitation to play Lilith Fair at the time. Looking back, Manson said she was perhaps too naive back then, feeling that women's position was moving forward.

By contrast, her view now has shifted: she says women's rights are regressing around the world in 2026, reaching a crisis point. Rodrigo herself has long used her platform to speak out against gender oppression and has repeatedly voiced opposition to the Trump administration's policies.

Manson also made headlines last month over an old interview. In a 2016 interview she had described the Spice Girls as "repulsive." After the remarks resurfaced recently, she publicly apologized, calling her comments at the time "reckless and cruel."
