Fontaines D.C. Announce Five UK Outdoor Shows for Summer 2027
Irish band Fontaines D.C. have announced five outdoor and stadium shows across the UK for summer 2027 — the biggest headline dates of their career so far. The run kicks off June 29 at Blackweir Fields in Cardiff, followed by St James' Park in Newcastle, Heaton Park in Manchester, and Glasgow Green, before closing July 9 at London Stadium. All five dates feature Little Simz and Viagra Boys as support, tying in with promotion for the new album Dopamine Chamber. Per NME, the new shows follow a 2026 tour on-sale that saw multiple stops sell out within minutes.

Two Nights at Slane Castle, and a Glastonbury Gap
Before Cardiff, the band play two consecutive nights at Slane Castle in Ireland on Saturday, June 26 and Sunday, June 27, with combined attendance across both nights reaching 160,000. Guests include Hayley Williams, Damien Dempsey and Madra Salach. Frontman Grian Chatten's band will become only the third Irish act to headline Slane Castle, following Thin Lizzy in 1981 and U2 in 2001 — a venue whose headliner history includes The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Queen, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Guns N' Roses, Oasis, Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Eminem and Harry Styles.
NME notes the Slane dates fall during the Glastonbury weekend, while Friday, June 25 remains an open date on the band's schedule. No performers have yet been confirmed for Glastonbury 2027.
New Album: Dopamine Chamber
Dopamine Chamber arrives October 16 via XL Recordings, produced by James Ford, following 2024's UK platinum-certified Romance. Singles released so far include "Marianne," "Six Shot Morning," and "Happy, For You." "Happy, For You" received its first live performance at Leeds Festival on Saturday, August 29 — after being cut from the previous night's Reading headline set due to technical and production issues. NME gave that Reading headline show four and a half stars.
