Fontaines D.C. Add Second Slane Castle Show for 2027
Dublin band Fontaines D.C. have announced a second show at Slane Castle in County Meath, Ireland, adding June 27, 2027 (Sunday) after their first date on June 26 — announced August 31 — drew demand beyond expectations. The historic venue, with an 80,000 capacity, has previously hosted headline sets from The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Queen, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Guns N' Roses, Oasis, Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Eminem and Harry Styles. According to NME, Fontaines D.C. will become only the third Irish act ever to headline Slane Castle, following Thin Lizzy in 1981 and U2 in 2001.

Both dates fall on the same weekend as Glastonbury. If Grian Chatten and company were to appear in the Worthy Farm lineup, only Thursday or Friday would be available. No 2027 Glastonbury lineup has been announced yet to compare against.
New album Dopamine Chamber and recent activity
The two Slane Castle dates land just ahead of the band's fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, due October 16 via XL Recordings and produced by James Ford — the follow-up to 2024's UK platinum-certified Romance. The lead single "Marianne" has already been released, alongside new tracks "Six Shot Morning" and "Happy, For You."
"Happy, For You" made its live debut on Saturday, August 29, at Leeds Festival. The previous night's headline set at Reading had been delayed by technical and scheduling issues, forcing three songs — including one previously unplayed new track — to be cut from the set. NME gave the Leeds show four and a half stars, calling it "a coronation befitting the moment."
Before Reading & Leeds, the band played Electric Picnic, marking their first Irish show since the June death of their longtime manager Trevor Dietz, whom the band considered a "sixth member."
2026 arena tour dates
Ahead of the Slane Castle shows, Fontaines D.C. will embark on an arena tour this year, starting next month in Lisbon. The UK leg begins November 20 at Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena, followed by Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham and London.
