Paul Thomas Anderson's Cameron Winter Concert Film Set for New York Film Festival World Premiere

Paul Thomas Anderson's concert film capturing Cameron Winter's December 11, 2025 solo performance at Carnegie Hall's Isaac Stern Auditorium in New York now has a release timeline. "Live At Carnegie Hall" was shot on 35mm and 16mm, documenting the Geese frontman reworking songs from his 2024 solo album "Heavy Metal" in piano-led arrangements, staged right after Geese wrapped a North American tour. According to NME, audience members captured Anderson operating a camera himself during "Nina + Field Of Cops" that night, with producer Benny Safdie assisting alongside him and another camera fixed on the balcony for the whole show.

Premiere and release schedule

The official synopsis is just two lines: Cameron Winter returns to New York in December 2025, after months of sold-out touring with Geese, for a single performance at Carnegie Hall. "This is the movie."

A live album from the same show

The same Carnegie Hall performance is also being released as Winter's first live album, "Live At Carnegie Hall," out October 9 via Partisan Records and Play It Again Sam, now available for pre-order. The record was recorded, produced and mixed by Ariel Rechtshaid, who also produced the film's music.

Anderson's music-film track record

Anderson has previously directed music videos for Radiohead, The Smile and Haim. His latest feature, "One Battle After Another," won Best Picture and Best Director at this year's Oscars.

Winter is currently on the road with Geese, whose latest album "Getting Killed" received a five-star NME review and topped the outlet's 2025 albums list. Recent shows include two sold-out Glasgow dates (with a live Dolly Parton tribute and the live debut of "Disco"), a Reading & Leeds 2026 booking, and their first-ever headline slot at End of the Road festival.
