Trailer Drops for 'Focker-In-Law' — Ariana Grande's Next Move After Wicked

The trailer for Focker-In-Law, the fourth installment in the comedy series that began with 2000's Meet the Parents, has been released. Ariana Grande joins the cast as Olivia, the fiancée of the son of Ben Stiller's character Greg Focker. The film opens November 25, with Robert De Niro returning as father-in-law Jack. According to NME, the trailer shows Greg growing suspicious of his soon-to-be daughter-in-law — and increasingly irritated that Jack seems to like her more than him.

Olivia wins over nearly every future in-law except Greg, who competes with her through a series of awkward set pieces, including a cooking mishap and a bicycle race. The trailer also teases Olivia facing the franchise's famous lie-detector-test scene from the first film.

For Stiller, this marks his first leading role since the 2017 drama The Meyerowitz Stories; in between he's mostly taken smaller supporting parts while working behind the scenes on the streaming series Severance.

Where this fits for Grande

Focker-In-Law is Grande's first acting project since 2025's Wicked: For Good, and her first return to comedy since 2021's Don't Look Up. She received an Oscar nomination for the first Wicked film, along with BAFTA and Golden Globe nods.

On the music side, Grande recently wrapped her world tour with a run of shows at London's O2 Arena. She had previously announced she would be stepping back from public life due to what she described as "endless, ongoing public scrutiny." At the tour's final show, she thanked the London audience, saying she wanted to express her gratitude without completely breaking down in tears, and that she would treasure the experience forever.
