Abbey Road Music Photography Awards 2026、入選作品発表 Oasis・Charli XCXら
第5回Abbey Road Music Photography Awardsの2026年入選作品が発表された。授賞式は9月24日に開催される。今回は42カ国から24,500点を超える応募が寄せられ、入選作品にはOasis、Charli XCX、Kendrick Lamar、Fontaines D.C.、Geese、Florence + The Machine、FKA Twigs、Tame Impala、Amyl and the Sniffersらのステージ写真が並ぶ。NMEの報道によれば、部門の中で「Music Moment of the Year」のみが一般投票の対象となっており、投票はすでに開始されている。

同部門の入選作には、Harriet T K Bols氏がウェンブリーでの「Live '25」公演後に舞台裏で撮影したOasisの写真、Jenn Devereaux氏によるKendrick Lamarのスーパーボウル・ハーフタイムショーの写真、そしてJack Oliver氏がグラストンベリーでCharli XCXが「brat」の旗を燃やした瞬間を捉えた写真が含まれる。
入選作品は9月8日午後1時30分からOuternet Londonにて9月14日まで展示され、会場のスクリーンでも投票が可能。審査員長を務めるRankin氏は、今回の応募作について「energyに満ちていた」とコメントし、各部門で5作品の最終候補に絞り込むのは非常に困難だったと語っている。

特別賞：Roberta Bayley氏とMasayoshi Sukita氏
ICON賞はニューヨークの写真家Roberta Bayley氏が受賞。1970年代のパンクシーンを記録し、Iggy Pop、Ramones、Debbie Harry & Blondie、Richard Hell、Sex Pistolsらを撮影してきた。
生涯功労賞は日本人写真家のMasayoshi Sukita（鋤田正義）氏に贈られた。David Bowieとは44年にわたり仕事を共にし、アルバム『Heroes』のジャケット写真を手がけたほか、Iggy Pop、Marc Bolan、Joe Strummer、Yellow Magic Orchestra、David Sylvianらの代表的な写真を残している。
