The announcement singles out Shukesh Sukla Badiya, calling him Tripura's "best-kept secret," a street performer who has sung on the same corner for decades. Featuring grassroots, non-commercial local performers alongside headliners is a consistent approach for Ziro Festival.
The lineup also spans generations: Midival Punditz, who started out in the 1990s, and Parikrama, marking its own 35th anniversary, appear alongside artists more recently active in film scoring and indie scenes like Sneha Khanwalkar and Shakthisree Gopalan — together spanning musical traditions from North, South, West and Northeast India.
