Hiroshi Nagai's First Thailand Exhibition Opens Free in Bangkok This August

Japanese artist and illustrator Hiroshi Nagai will hold his first solo exhibition in Thailand, titled Hiroshi Nagai: Summer Dreaming, at RCB Galleria 1 on the second floor of River City Bangkok. The show runs from August 4 to September 4, 2026, with free admission daily from 10:00 to 20:00.

What was announced

The exhibition marks Nagai's first-ever solo show in Thailand. It's staged at RCB Galleria 1 on the second floor of River City Bangkok, with the gallery space open to the public at no charge for the full run.

Why Nagai matters to City Pop fans

Hiroshi Nagai is one of the key figures who shaped the visual identity of City Pop. His signature imagery — sun-drenched pools, coastlines, and glowing 1980s Japanese summer scenes — has long been reused across countless record covers and related visuals.

Titled "Summer Dreaming," the exhibition invites visitors into his world of sunlight and swimming pools. The organizers have not yet released a full list of works to be shown.

What we don't know yet

The organizers have not yet released a full list of works to be shown. No details have been given about accompanying merchandise, print sales, opening events, or artist appearances. Travel and ticketing logistics beyond the free walk-in admission have not been announced.
