Yousuke Shimonaka's Debut Solo LP "SHIMONAKA" Now Up for Preorder, Ships in Japan September 16
Yousuke Shimonaka — guitarist of DYGL and a longtime dual-guitar foil to Takuro Okada in never young beach live sets — is stepping out with his debut solo LP, SHIMONAKA. The record is co-released by independent label Thaian Records (founded by Yuma Abe) and SPACE SHOWER MUSIC, with a Japan release date of September 16, 2026, catalog number PEJF-91065.
About the album
SHIMONAKA draws on 1970s and '80s Japanese fusion and crossover music as its foundation, framed as a new-generation take on tropical instrumental music. All eight tracks were written by Shimonaka himself.
Mixing was handled by Takuro Okada, with mastering by Los Angeles engineer Dave Cooley at Elysian Masters. The album was recorded across three studios: HMC Studio (engineered by Hiroshi Ikeda), Freedom Studio Infinity (engineered by Yousuke Maeda), and sessions engineered by Ayumu Musha.
