Sarah Meth Announces Debut Album 'Something Shameful,' Out October 30

London-based singer-songwriter and producer Sarah Meth has announced her debut album, Something Shameful, arriving October 30, 2026 via her own label Wishbone. The 12-track record was announced alongside a lead single, "Don't touch me you're my hero," whose video brings together members of several well-known London bands.

What was announced

Something Shameful centers on heartbreak, shame, desire and longing. Much of the material grew out of a solo trip Meth took to New York in 2024, right after wrapping her first major UK tour as support for King Krule. According to Far Out Magazine, Meth has also been confirmed to play Pitchfork London in November 2026.

The single and its cast

"Don't touch me you're my hero" addresses what Meth describes as an increasingly imbalanced power dynamic within the music industry. She has said it's "a bleak time" for women in creative industries, pointing to a lack of protection for young female musicians that leaves her constantly questioning other people's intentions.

The video assembles a cross-section of the London scene: Charlie Steen and Charlie Forbes of Shame, Louis O'Bryen and Lincoln Barrett of Sorry, and Marco Pini of RIP Magic.

The New York trip behind the record

Meth has described the album's origin story: a man invited her to New York, then backed out at the last minute, so she went alone. She says many of the people she met that week later became recurring figures in different chapters of her life — and that meeting another version of herself outside London was what made the trip distinct.
