QOTSA Share "Where The Goth Girls At?", New Album Perfecth Out October 30
Queens Of The Stone Age have released "Where The Goth Girls At?", the third preview track from Josh Homme and the band's ninth studio album, Perfecth, due October 30. According to NME, the song pairs a stripped-back guitar riff with an explosive chorus, layered with heavy strings and brass, continuing the sound established on the previously released "Insignificant Other" and "Easy Street".
The single and its video
Homme has said the song draws on his upbringing near Palm Desert, California, centered on teenage romance and the urge to impress others. He recalled seeing a goth-styled girl doing gothic makeup for an older customer at a JCPenney counter, summing it up with the line: "Teenage love, ain't it grand?"
The video is directed by Christopher Gruse and Tony Wolski, who also made the "Easy Street" clip. It features cameos from comedian Steve Agee, dancer and artist Scarlett Kapella, and singer/actor Lou Lou Safran, alongside the band members themselves. Set in an abandoned power plant, the video shows black ink gradually spreading across the frame as the titular goth girl transforms everyone she meets into their "final form".
The concept behind Perfecth
Perfecth follows the band's 2023 album In Times New Roman and contains nine songs exploring different forms of love, covering family, friends, and various significant or insignificant others. Homme has said the album title stems from his belief that the word "perfect" is dishonest and doesn't really exist, so he coined a more fitting spelling. He said nothing in the world is perfect, but everything looks "perfecth" — adding that the line is funny in a group but not so funny alone. The album's core theme also draws on the Japanese art of Kintsugi, repairing broken pottery with gold.
Upcoming shows
Queens Of The Stone Age will play Bourbon & Beyond 2026 on Thursday, September 24, and wrap this run of Foo Fighters support dates in Las Vegas on Saturday, September 26. The band will then play their first Iceland show since 2005 on October 24, before heading to Singapore, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
