Dave Lombardo and Lustmord Team Up for Lustmord Lombardo, Debut Album Out in October
Dave Lombardo, the drummer known for his years behind the kit in Slayer and Misfits, has formed a new duo with dark ambient pioneer Lustmord. The project is named, straightforwardly, Lustmord Lombardo. Their debut album, The Pulse of Atoms, is set for release on October 2, 2026 via Ipecac Records, with the lead single "Paleomagnetic Resonance" already out now. Who's involved
Dave Lombardo is one of metal drumming's defining figures, having powered Slayer's classic-era thrash and later drummed for Misfits. Lustmord, meanwhile, is widely credited as one of the originators of dark ambient electronic music, with a catalog stretching back decades into cinematic, texture-driven soundscapes. Lustmord Lombardo marks the first time the two have paired up in a dedicated, ongoing project, setting Lombardo's metal-rooted rhythmic vocabulary against Lustmord's atmospheric electronic production.
