About Instant Comfort
The nine-track album was completed through late-night, trans-Pacific remote mixing sessions with producer Kurt Feldman. Its songs deal with disorientation, heartbreak, and rebuilding independence after the band members traveled the world. Compared to Lucid Express's earlier work, the record leans into denser guitar walls, layered synths, and streaks of '90s trip-hop.
Why it matters for international fans
Lucid Express — vocalist/synth player Kim Ho, guitarists Andy Tsang and Sky Kung, bassist Samuel Chan, and drummer Wai Chan — has played festivals including LEVITATION and Slide Away 2025 in the US and Clockenflap in Hong Kong, with coverage from Under The Radar and KEXP. In Hong Kong, the band has repeatedly opened for touring international shoegaze acts, including Japan's Tokyo Shoegaze and honeydip, with upcoming shows alongside The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and iVy. For fans tracking the Asian shoegaze/dream pop circuit, these two dates mark a rare full-band Taiwan stop timed to the new record.
