Live Nation Extends Michael Rapino's Contract Through 2031, Target Pay Package Hits $60 Million

Live Nation, the world's largest live entertainment company, has extended the contract of CEO Michael Rapino through the end of 2031. The new deal carries a target pay package of $60 million, more than double the potential payout under his previous contract. Rapino has run Live Nation since 2005, overseeing its growth into a multinational group spanning concert promotion, venue operations and ticketing. The extension was first reported by Pollstar on October 5, 2026.

What was announced

A "target pay package" refers to total compensation if performance goals are met, typically combining base salary, annual bonus and equity awards — the actual payout depends on performance against those targets. Rapino is currently marking 20 years at the helm of Live Nation; this extension would carry his tenure into its 26th year.

Touring business, same news cycle

The same Pollstar Daily Pulse report also detailed the scale of Live Nation's touring operations. $uicideboy$'s seventh "Grey Day Tour," produced by Live Nation, kicked off in North America on August 29, running 34 headline dates through October, mostly at outdoor amphitheaters, plus one festival date.

Support acts rotate by date and include Destroy Lonely, Shoreline Mafia, Shakewell, DRAIN, Black Kray and $lim Gucci. Based on box office results from the tour's first 10 shows, $uicideboy$ made their debut on Pollstar's LIVE75 chart.
