Little Grandad Announce Debut Album 'Speak Softly, Son' for January 2027
London band Little Grandad have announced their debut full-length album, Speak Softly, Son, for release on January 22, 2027. The announcement comes with a lead single, "Tiny Feet," and a run of UK tour dates starting in September, plus a stop in Paris in November.
The album and the single
The record was produced by Kev Jones of Wunderhorse and recorded in London's Crouch End during breaks in the band's touring schedule. It arrives just over a year after the duo's first-ever live show at Brixton's The Windmill.
"Tiny Feet" opens quietly on restrained guitar before building in intensity, built around the band's tightly interlocked vocal harmonies. The music video was directed by Xander Lewis.
Speaking to NME previously, the band said they deliberately skipped the EP stage. Frontman and bassist Jack Lower said: "we're gonna skip the EP," going straight into a full album instead. He also pointed to a broader move back toward the song itself — telling a full story through guitar.

Brothers behind the 'blood harmonies'
Little Grandad is led by brothers Jack Lower (bass/vocals) and Harry Lower (guitar/vocals), who moved back in together after university and began trading songwriting ideas, developing what they call their "blood harmonies." The band cites Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and Neil Young as reference points.
Jack told NME the band's long-term goal is something like Bob Dylan's "Never Ending Tour" — never stopping, until, even when he can barely sing anymore, the crowd still wants to sing along.
