Recent activity
Jay-Z headlined Roots Picnic 2026 last month, his first festival appearance in seven years. During a freestyle segment that night, he called out Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Kanye West by name. He had earlier announced three shows at Yankee Stadium, kicking off this Friday (7/11), also framed around the same anniversary theme.
Separately, reports indicate Jay-Z will collaborate with Eminem on an upcoming album from rap veteran Rakim — their first reunion since 2001's The Blueprint track "Renegade," 25 years ago. The collaborative album, released jointly by Rakim, Kurupt, and Masta Killa, is expected to arrive on August 28.
As for a new solo album, Jay-Z's collaborator Cash Cobain recently told Variety that Jay-Z himself said he would "definitely not" be releasing new music anytime soon — the follow-up to 2017's 4:44 remains without a timeline.
