Bibio and Dorian Concept's Collaborative Album Answers Arrives October 16

British producer Bibio (Stephen Wilkinson) and Austrian musician Dorian Concept (Oliver Johnson) will release their first collaborative album, Answers, on Friday, October 16, 2026. Japanese distribution is being handled by BEATINK, which will put out the record across several formats.
The two have stayed in contact since first meeting in 2009. According to BEATINK, the album was built like an exchange of musical letters: the pair sent each other audio and video files, then responded to what they received, layering the project back and forth until it became a finished work — hence the title. The result weaves together Bibio's organic guitar loops with Dorian Concept's piano and synth textures.

A back-and-forth creative process
BEATINK describes the making of Answers as a series of musical letters passed between the two artists — each sending files to the other and responding in kind, building the album through repeated exchange.
The starting point, per BEATINK, was an idea of looking back in order to move forward: each artist brought years of accumulated musical vocabulary along with their present-day feelings into the collaboration. Bibio's guitar loops interweave with Dorian Concept's piano and synths, while tape delay, vintage synthesizers, pitch shifters, and field recordings are woven in as textural elements.
The album moves freely between opposing qualities — the simplicity of folk and the experimentation of electronic music, calm and unease, dream and reality. BEATINK describes the shared music as ultimately arriving somewhere even the two artists themselves hadn't anticipated.
