22 Years Since Friday Night Lights
Explosions in the Sky's relationship with Peter Berg goes back to Friday Night Lights, the film that gave the band their first feature-length scoring credit. That soundtrack went on to become one of the band's most widely heard works, and its musical approach carried over into the subsequent TV series of the same name.
In their post, the band noted that 22 years later, Berg "still rings our bell" and "lets us be us," saying the collaboration still preserved the band's original creative approach. The Mosquito Bowl marks the duo's first film collaboration since Friday Night Lights.
