"Weird Al" Yankovic Returns to NPR Tiny Desk After 16 Years

"Weird Al" Yankovic has returned to NPR's Tiny Desk series, 16 years after his first appearance behind that desk. The new performance was reported by Consequence on August 20 (US time), landing just before the next leg of his ongoing BIGGER & WEIRDER Tour.
From acoustic setup to full band
Yankovic last recorded a Tiny Desk Concert in 2010, performing an acoustic set with his longtime backing band at the desk.
This time around, the biggest change is the lineup: instead of the stripped-down 2010 arrangement, Yankovic brought a full band. The Tiny Desk series has also loosened its space constraints in recent years, increasingly accommodating larger bands and horn sections squeezed into NPR's office space.
Tied to the BIGGER & WEIRDER Tour
The new session ties into Yankovic's currently running BIGGER & WEIRDER Tour. Unlike his past stripped-down acoustic tours, this run returns to full-band, full-costume performances. Specific dates for the tour's next leg have not yet been announced.
