Brandon Flowers on The Killers: "Still Together," But No Clear Plan Ahead

Brandon Flowers, frontman of The Killers, told the BBC the band is "still together" and plans to make another record — but admitted he has no idea what the future holds. The interview landed on the same day his third solo album, Thrasher, was released: Friday, August 21, 2026. The Killers have kept touring non-stop, yet it has been five years since their last studio album. As Far Out Magazine noted in its roundup of the comments, Flowers' remarks read less like a farewell and more like an absence of a fixed plan.
What Flowers told the BBC
Asked directly about the band's status, Flowers said: "We're still together," adding that The Killers will make another album. He also spoke about "ageing gracefully" as something with its own beauty, citing John Lennon and Tom Petty as musicians who were at ease with their own age.
In late 2023, Flowers had revealed that The Killers scrapped a synth-driven album they were recording, saying "It just didn't feel authentic" — he felt the band was forcing something that wasn't there.
The Killers' recent moves
The band toured North America in 2025, including several summer festival headline slots. Earlier in 2026 they played Paraguay, Colombia, Peru, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Mexico, and performed at the UEFA Champions League final in Budapest.
Thrasher and the solo tour
Thrasher is Flowers' third solo album, released August 21, 2026. Far Out Magazine gave it three and a half stars, describing it as an attempt by Flowers to trace the origins of his own sound, resulting in what reads as a portrait of a community rather than just himself.
Flowers is set to tour the UK and Ireland in October. The cities on the run are:
- Bournemouth
- London
- Bristol
- Manchester
- York
- Glasgow
- Birmingham
- Dublin
What hasn't been announced
Exact tour dates, venues, promoters, ticket prices and on-sale times for the October UK/Ireland run have not yet been announced. There is also no confirmed timeline for a new Killers album beyond Flowers' comment that one is still planned.
