Triangle Recruits Ex-Live Nation Exec, Bets on Mid-Size Touring Revival in Asia
Asian live entertainment company Triangle Entertainment has announced a new strategic direction, recruiting former Live Nation executive Roger Fields and completing a new funding round. According to industry outlet IQ, Triangle's goal is to revive mid-size touring across Asia through a "new anchor city" model. The same IQ Index report also covered live entertainment tech platform Fever, which closed a $250 million funding round.
Triangle's "anchor city" strategy
Mid-size touring has long been a structural gap in Asian markets — artists touring the region have mostly been limited to one-off stops in a handful of first-tier cities, without a connected, economically viable route through mid-size venues. Triangle's new direction centers on adding anchor cities to restructure regional touring routes.
On the personnel side, Roger Fields brings Live Nation's touring operations experience into Triangle; the new funding corresponds to the capital needed for expansion. IQ described the move as an effort to get Asia's mid-size market "firing again."
Fever raises $250 million to expand beyond its 55 markets
Fever, which closed its funding round in the same period, currently operates across 55 markets. The new $250 million round will fund expansion into new regions beyond its existing footprint, along with further development of ticketing tools and event formats — with Asia seen as a potential expansion target.
Fever's business model differs from traditional promoters, focusing on self-produced experiential events and ticketing technology to tap into urban entertainment spending. This represents a distinct path into Asia compared to Triangle's touring-promotion approach.
Other industry news from the same report
The same IQ Index issue also covered two other topics: the growing share of VIP tickets and add-on services in box office revenue structures, and a U.S. music tourism-related bill nearing passage.
