The sound behind 'come back down'
Total Wife work in a glitch-inflected strain of shoegaze, layering experimental electronic processing over walls of noise and distorted guitar. Stereogum has described the duo's original recordings as already sounding like remixes of themselves.
come back down, released in 2025, was named one of Stereogum's favorite albums of last year. Full-length remix companions to an original album have become a more common move among independent acts in recent years, and this EP follows that pattern.
