Tiny Habits Played the First Dance at Matty Healy's Wedding, New Album 'Keepers' Due in August
The 1975 frontman Matty Healy married former Nasty Cherry member and model Gabbriette Bechtel last month at Castillo del Lago in Los Angeles — a former home of Madonna. On August 7, Healy's mother Denise Welch revealed the detail while hosting a listening event for Tiny Habits' new album at St Pancras Old Church in London's Camden neighborhood: the band had performed the couple's first dance at the wedding.
How Healy discovered Tiny Habits
Welch explained that Healy first found the band on Instagram, and that Gabbriette later surprised him with tickets to a James Taylor concert — where Tiny Habits happened to be the opening act. Healy reportedly "fell in love with them" on the spot. Gabbriette had shared video from the show on TikTok at the time, capturing Healy visibly moved throughout the set, and noted that James Taylor was his favorite musician.
Healy and Tiny Habits went on to cover James Taylor's 1968 classic "Carolina In My Mind" together, and later released a joint single, "Anything He Was." Welch said the track "blew up online," joking that the band "haven't invited her to sing with them yet — but the night is young."

Wedding guests included Charli XCX and her husband, fellow The 1975 member George Daniel, along with Anastasia Karanikolaou, Fai Khadra, Alex Consani, Devon Lee Carlson and fiancé Duke Nicholson, Sydney Lynn Carlson, Tyrell Hampton, Alex O'Connor and Quenlin Blackwell. Before the wedding, Healy joined a 1975 cover band on stage to perform "The Sound" at his bachelor party in Malibu.
As for The 1975's own plans, the band has told fans two new albums are currently in the works, one of which will reportedly be titled DOGS — a word that cryptically appeared on the screens during the closing moments of their headline set at Glastonbury last year.
