Sonic Shaman and Out in the Loop Plan 24-Hour Taipei-Lucerne Livestream Festival

Taipei's Sonic Shaman Festival and Lucerne's Out in the Loop festival have announced a collaboration: a continuous 24-hour hybrid arts festival running from Saturday, November 14 to Sunday, November 15, 2026. Using real-time, life-size telematic transmission technology, the event will link two stages — RS289 in Taipei and Neubad in Lucerne — into a single shared space. With a 7-hour time difference between the two cities, day meets night as programming runs uninterrupted for 24 hours. The announcement was made via the organizers' Instagram account.

Event details

One shared program, two stages

According to the organizers, the 24-hour program will include talks, cross-location collaborative performances, concerts, and b2b DJ sets spanning both cities, built around the theme of "global pop cultures." All segments will be connected via real-time transmission, allowing audiences in both cities to experience the same program simultaneously.

This collaboration is supported by Swiss cultural foundations Pro Helvetia and the Temperatio Foundation.

What is Out in the Loop

Out in the Loop was founded in 2022 and is part of an international network of arts institutions. Its core approach is to bring programming from different formats and time zones onto a single shared stage, testing possibilities for collaboration across disciplines, cities, and audiences, while using digital tools to address the technical and sensory challenges of "real-time cross-location experience." This collaboration with Sonic Shaman marks the festival's first time extending its telematic connection to Taiwan.
