Sonic Shaman 2026 Launches Crowdfunder for 30-Hour Taipei–Lucerne Livestream Festival

Taipei experimental sound and art festival Sonic Shaman (聲波薩滿), curated by The Cube Space, will hold its fourth edition on November 14-15, 2026 (Saturday-Sunday) in Taipei. For the first time, the festival will link up in real time with the Out in the Loop arts festival in Lucerne, Switzerland, merging both cities' stages into a single continuous 30-hour program of electronic music, experimental sound, dance and performance art. A crowdfunding campaign is now live, offering super-early-bird passes and limited artist-made rewards.

Who's involved

Confirmed artists include Lim Giong (林強), Lee Kan Kyo (李漢強), Lee Kit (李傑), Su Yu-Hsien (蘇育賢), and Danish art collective Superflex.

Crowdfunding rewards: limited artist collectibles

Besides the super-early-bird passes, all crowdfunding rewards are provided by the participating artists as limited collectible items.

The technical challenge of a transcontinental link

The organizers describe this project as a challenge "never attempted before," with Taipei and Lucerne separated by a straight-line distance of over 9,000 kilometers. Rather than a one-way broadcast, the link merges both cities' stages into a single unified program timeline, weaving together electronic music, experimental sound, dance and performance art across the 30 hours.

Since its founding, Sonic Shaman has been curated by The Cube Space, with a long-standing focus on programming at the intersection of sound art and contemporary art. This is its fourth edition. For more details, see the organizer's official website and social media announcements.
