Taiwanese Drummer L8ching Announces First Tokyo Headline Show for Nov 3
Taiwanese drummer and singer-songwriter L8ching (雷擎) will play his first Tokyo headline show on November 3, 2026 (Tuesday, a Japanese national holiday) at Aoyama Tsukimi Kimi Omou (青山月見ル君想フ) in Tokyo — his first time fronting his own band on a Tokyo stage. Saxophonist Motoharu (元晴), who also plays on L8ching's latest recordings, joins as special guest. The bill also features Sonoko Inoue with Toru Nishiuchi (井上園子 with 西内徹). The show is announced by Japanese label Big Romantic Records, with tickets going on sale September 17 at 20:00.

From session drummer to bandleader
L8ching has long worked as a drummer on Taiwan's live scene, backing acts including Sunset Rollercoaster and Leo Wang. In his own material, he channels rhythm and groove, along with memories of travel and nature, into a personal musical language.
This isn't his first connection to Japan: in 2023 he performed at Karuizawa's EPOCHS festival as part of the lineup Leo Wang + L8ching + CLOUDRIVER. This marks the first time he leads his own band on a Tokyo venue stage.
Co-bill and guest lineup
Special guest Motoharu is a saxophonist active in Japan who also took part in recording L8ching's latest work. The co-bill act, Sonoko Inoue with Toru Nishiuchi, will perform at the same show, shaping a program centered on wind instruments and groove.
