Sombr Brings Out The Cranberries for 'Zombie' at Electric Picnic

American pop singer Sombr brought out Noel Hogan and Mike Hogan of The Cranberries during his set on the opening night of Electric Picnic in Ireland, on Friday, August 28, 2026, for a joint performance of the band's 1994 hit "Zombie." The three-day festival is held at Stradbally Hall in County Laois. According to NME, Sombr made an over-the-top entrance that night, arriving backstage in a Mercedes and later attempting to "split the G" onstage — drinking a Guinness down to the exact midpoint of its logo.

Second Time Sharing a Stage With The Cranberries in Six Months

This marks the second time Sombr has performed with members of The Cranberries. Back in March, at the final stop of his "The Late Nights & Young Romance Tour" at 3Arena in Dublin, he brought out Mike Hogan and Noel Hogan for a rendition of the band's 1993 song "Linger." Fans joked on social media at the time that the American singer had "basically earned his Irish passport."

BRITs 2026 Nominations and Recent Collaborations

Sombr is nominated for two awards at the BRITs 2026: International Artist, and International Song (for "Undressed"). Speaking to NME, he said he felt "honoured" by the nominations and thanked UK audiences for embracing his debut album.

Asked about his influences, he cited The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, and Elton John, along with Manchester bands like Oasis and The Stone Roses — adding that the UK has the edge over the US when it comes to iconic bands.

At Coachella this past April, Sombr also brought out Billy Corgan and Billy Idol, and covered a classic track by Radiohead during his set.
