Robbie Williams Storms CMAT's Set at Bilbao BBK Live 2026 Day Two

CMAT (Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson) closed out day two of Bilbao BBK Live 2026 (July 10) on the Repsol Stage by leading the crowd in a singalong of Robbie Williams' signature hit "Angels." Williams, who had just finished his own headline set on the main stage that same night, ran onstage and embraced CMAT as the crowd erupted. CMAT later told the audience the moment was "genuinely not planned."
The Olivia Rodrigo Cover — and an Online Bullying Backlash
During the set, CMAT also brought up Olivia Rodrigo's recent cover of her song "When A Good Man Cries" on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge, joking that Rodrigo is "my best friend." Rodrigo had praised CMAT while performing the cover, calling her "such a unique songwriter" and saying "nobody writes songs like her right now." "When A Good Man Cries" appears on CMAT's acclaimed third album, Euro-Country.
Euro-Country has had a strong year: it won Best Album at the 2026 Ivor Novello Awards, was shortlisted for the 2025 Mercury Prize, and landed at No. 4 on NME's albums of the year list. But CMAT has also faced a wave of online bullying over her appearance following her Radio 1 Big Weekend 2026 appearance, prompting her to post on Instagram saying that "every time my fame increases, the bullying gets worse at a faster rate."
Bilbao BBK Live 2026 Day Two Lineup
Besides CMAT and Williams, day two (July 10) also featured Tomora (a crossover project between Aurora and Chemical Brothers' Tom Rowlands), Alabama Shakes, and Belle and Sebastian. Day one of the festival (July 9) featured performances from FKA Twigs and David Byrne, among others. Day three (July 11) will be headlined by Lily Allen and IDLES.
