Plato the Third Reworks "Marissa" with Bartees Strange

The Story Behind "Marissa"

According to Plato the Third, "Marissa" was the goofiest song on Grown and nearly didn't make the album at all. In his post, he described the new version as a "tender reimagining" that gives the original song its due.

He also offered a piece of advice to other artists: trust your instincts and put weird things out into the world. The song itself, he noted, is drawn from a small personal grudge involving his wife's former roommate.
