Oli Sykes and Spiritbox's Courtney LaPlante Team Up for Valorant Champions Theme

Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes, Spiritbox vocalist Courtney LaPlante and DJ/producer Grabbitz have released a new collaborative track, "If The Sun Burns Out Tonight," serving as the official theme song for Valorant Champions Shanghai 2026, Riot Games' annual championship for the tactical shooter Valorant. The song was announced last month. The tournament brings together the top 16 teams from around the world and kicks off September 24 in Shanghai. As reported by NME, the track blends metal and electronic elements, written and produced by Grabbitz with vocals from Sykes and LaPlante.
Behind the track
Sykes said in a statement that he's always been drawn to projects that "blur the lines between narrative and music," calling the collaboration with Riot Games, Grabbitz and LaPlante — and stepping into the Valorant universe — a natural fit.
LaPlante said Sykes has invited her to perform with Bring Me The Horizon on stage multiple times over the years, but this marks the first time the two have released a joint recorded work. She described Grabbitz as building an atmosphere suited to all three voices, with Sykes quickly diving in to make it a genuine three-way collaboration. LaPlante previously recorded "Ties That Bind" last year for 2XKO, the League of Legends fighting-game spinoff.
Grabbitz said the three artists come from different musical territories, and the track ultimately landed between his electronic vocabulary and the heavier landscapes of Bring Me The Horizon and Spiritbox. He called it the best Valorant theme song to date.
What both acts are up to now
Bring Me The Horizon is wrapping up the final shows of its NeX GEn tour and has already confirmed its first wave of 2027 dates.
Spiritbox, meanwhile, is headlining UK arenas for the first time, playing London's Wembley Arena on Sunday, September 19.
NME also notes that several other artists — including Travis Scott, Fred Again.. and PinkPantheress — have recently hinted at involvement with the soundtrack for Grand Theft Auto VI.
