'Iwaou' and the four-year gap
In the four years since Awakening:Sleeping, the band toured North America, Europe, and Asia, weaving material from the road and members' personal experiences into their sixth album, Iwaou.
Recording engineering for Iwaou was handled by Yusuke Shinma, with mastering by Tsubasa Yamazaki, and artwork by longtime collaborator, manga artist Ai Kozaki. The promoter describes the album's theme as a blessing offered 'with hands pressed together' amid chaos, emphasizing the band's continued push toward self-produced work.
About the band
The name MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS combines 'MASS' (gathering and weight), 'FERMENT' (fermentation and unrest), and 'DREGS' (sediment), reflecting the band's alt-rock sound that pairs walls of noise with pop melody. The Taipei show is one stop on their Asia tour; other tour dates have not yet been announced by the promoter.
