Lisbon Noise-Rock Trio Maquina Share Nine Records They Love

Lisbon noise-rock trio Maquina sat down with Far Out Magazine for its "Doctor's Orders" column, with each of the band's three members naming three personal favorite records — nine albums in total, ranging from thrash metal and neo-psychedelia to raw punk. The band's new album Body Transmission fuses post-punk propulsion with jagged metal riffs, and the picks below track with that same appetite for both extremity and nuance.

Nine records, three members

Drummer and vocalist Halison Peres picked Sepultura's Arise (1991), calling it "heavy, relentless, every song feels like a punch to the face." The same member also named The War on Drugs' Lost in the Dream as its polar opposite — a record he says he likes to hear alone, calling it "my comfort zone."
