Maisie Peters Covers Dolly Parton at Reading Festival the Same Week as Her Death

"Here You Come Again" and the Wider Tributes

Written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, "Here You Come Again" was the title track of Parton's 1977 album and her first major crossover hit into the pop market — it reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned her first Grammy.

Tributes poured in across the festival circuit and beyond following news of Parton's death: Jack White performed "Jolene" at his London show, Orville Peck covered "I Will Always Love You," and the UK's ceremonial guard band played "9 To 5" outside Buckingham Palace. Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, Eminem and Elton John also posted tributes citing her musical influence and decades of charity work.

What's Next for Peters

Peters follows her Reading set with a Leeds Festival appearance the next day, August 30. Later this year she has festival dates lined up in Mexico and Australia. She's also booked to return to London on May 8, 2027, for her first-ever headline show at The O2.

Earlier this year, Peters teamed up with Amelia Dimoldenberg on the music video for "My Regards" — Dimoldenberg's directorial debut in music video — with a concept riffing on the 1992 film The Bodyguard.
