Live Nation Buys Majority Stake in Three Prague Arenas

Live Nation has acquired a majority stake in three of Prague's leading venues from private equity group PPF Group, according to IQ Magazine (Hanna Ellington, August 7, 2026). The deal covers O2 Arena (20,000 capacity), O2 Universum (5,000 capacity), and Forum Karlín (4,000 capacity) — marking the company's largest investment in the CEE region to date. The venues will join Live Nation's global venue portfolio, and the company says the spaces remain open to all artists, promoters, and event organizers. The deal value has not been disclosed and remains subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.

Live Nation EMEA president Paul Antonio said Prague has long been an important market for the company, which has built a local team and long-term partnerships there and brought major tours to the Czech Republic over the years. He called this the next step, aiming to improve the venues, bring more artists to Prague, and enhance the fan experience. PPF Group co-CEO Didier Stoessel said O2 Arena and O2 Universum have been central to Czech culture, sports, and social life for more than two decades, and that this investment marks the next stage of their development.
CEE expansion
Earlier this year, Live Nation acquired Romanian promoter Emagic and Slovak promoter Vivien. The company also operates Live Nation Central and Eastern Europe in Hungary, Live Nation Sp z.o.o. in Poland, and Live Nation Czech Republic, alongside Fest Team in Bulgaria and HPP in Greece.
IQ noted that major international tours have performed strongly in these markets recently: Iron Maiden drew large crowds in Athens, Sofia, Bucharest, and Bratislava, while Eric Clapton sold out shows in Prague, Kraków, and Budapest.
2026 venue acquisition pace
Live Nation recently reported second-quarter revenue of $7.7 billion (€6.7 billion), up 9% year-on-year, partly driven by international market growth. In 2026, the company has completed three arena acquisitions: Impact Arena in Bangkok, Forum in Milan, and Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, and has announced plans to build a new venue in São Paulo.
