Kim Sawol to Make Taipei Solo Debut Nov. 5, With Wang Pin-chun

South Korean indie-folk singer-songwriter Kim Sawol (김사월) will play her first solo Taipei show on Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 20:00 to 22:30 at 2F-Ganjyoyoyu, a live house in Taipei. Tickets are NT$800, with the announcement made by whoa.taipei. The date marks her first full solo set in Taiwan — she'll share the bill with Taiwanese singer-songwriter Wang Pin-chun.

Show details

This isn't Kim Sawol's first trip to Taiwan this year, though — she's already confirmed to appear at the Wander Hotel Festival, where she'll share a stage with Taiwanese band Qing Ti.

From Secret to Default

Kim Sawol has been a fixture of Korean indie folk for close to a decade. She debuted in 2014 as one half of the duo 김사월X김해원 (Kim Sawol X Kim Haewon) with the album Secret, which won Best Folk Album at the Korean Music Awards the following year, alongside a Best New Artist win.

Her 2015 solo debut Suzanne also took Best Folk Album, and 2018's Romance swept both Best Folk Album and Best Folk Song. She's kept releasing steadily since, from Heaven through to 2024's Default.

Her sound is built on a folk foundation but pulls in textures of chanson and rock, with lyrics circling around desire, loneliness, love, and the things that are hard to say out loud.

Support: Wang Pin-chun

Wang Pin-chun came up through the Golden Lyre Award (金旋獎) for original songwriting. Her debut album Pinky Promise was produced by Golden Melody-winning producer Chen Jun-hao, blending folk, indie pop and synth pop.
