Neil Young Tribute Album 'Heart of Gold' Vol. 2 & 3 Set Lineup, Out November 6

Cinema Music Group, Killphonic Records and City Slang announced on July 22, 2026 that the second and third volumes of the charity tribute album Heart of Gold: The Songs of Neil Young — Vol. 2 – Out of the Blue and Vol. 3 – Into the Black — will be released simultaneously on Friday, November 6, 2026. The two volumes follow Vol. 1, released in 2025, and bring together artists spanning indie, country and rock. All proceeds go to The Bridge School, the nonprofit co-founded by Neil Young and Pegi Young that serves people with severe speech and physical impairments.

Lead single and artist statements

King Princess released the lead single from Vol. 3, a cover of "Helpless." According to Far Out Magazine, she said the song was a shared favorite of hers and her mother's among Neil Young's catalog, and the recording was completed in a single take, performed by just her and producer Brad Oberhofer.

The lead single from Vol. 2 is Draco Rosa's rendition of "After the Gold Rush," which he said holds an important place in his own creative journey. The Bridge School's executive director, Gabriela Berlanga, said that proceeds from both volumes will go entirely toward ensuring people with disabilities have access to communication, education and related resources.
