American musician Frankie Rose has released a new single, "Return To Dust." According to a Stereogum report dated August 20, 2026, the track comes from her forthcoming album Hila, due out next month. Around the same time, she'll join The Charlatans as a support act on their North American tour.

From Vivian Girls to solo artist

Frankie Rose came up in the late-2000s American indie rock scene, passing through Dum Dum Girls, Vivian Girls, and Crystal Stilts. Since going solo, her sound has shifted toward hazy, gothic-tinged '80s-style synthpop.

She has previously opened for The Jesus and Mary Chain and Swervedriver, and the upcoming Charlatans dates continue that same lineage of pairing with British guitar and noise-rock acts.
