Dolly Parton's Estate Announces Dollyfest 2027, Spanning Nashville and London

Dolly Parton's estate has announced plans for Dollyfest, a first-ever festival honoring the country icon, to take place in 2027 across two cities on two continents: Nashville and London, held over two consecutive weekends. Parton died on August 25, 2026, at age 80; her team said the cause was a "brief battle with cancer." According to Far Out Magazine, organizers are framing the project as a two-continent, two-weekend event, though exact dates and venue details have not yet been released.

What's been announced

The press release states that both the lineup and ticket sales details are still to come, and fans interested in attending can register on the official website to receive updates as they're released.

The original January 2026 80th-birthday plan

Parton's manager, Danny Nozell, explained in a statement that Dollyfest was originally planned for January 2026 in Nashville, with Parton herself set to perform and host in celebration of her 80th birthday. Nozell said the venue had already been booked and the announcement prepared, but in August 2025 Parton had to pause those plans due to health issues.

Nozell also stressed that the team is "not discouraging" fans from mourning Parton in their own way, but said traditional memorial rites are "not something Dolly wanted." For that reason, the team chose to let organic tributes unfold first before moving ahead with the festival concept that Parton herself had originated.

Funeral and tributes

Parton's niece Lainey Parton previously confirmed that a private family funeral was held on August 28, with Parton laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville, next to her late husband Carl Dean.

Since the news broke, musicians from Paul McCartney to Taylor Swift have paid tribute. Parton's goddaughter Miley Cyrus wrote that Dolly would want her to feel it, write a song about it, and keep moving forward with strength, adding, "I have an angel with me."
