Seoul's CHS Return to Japan for Three Shows This September

Seoul-based tropical psychedelic rock band CHS are returning to Japan for the first time in two years, with three dates set for September 2026. The run includes a festival slot and two headline shows in Tokyo, each with a guest act and DJ set. The news was announced by Japanese label Big Romantic Records via Instagram, and tickets for the Tokyo shows are on sale now via Peatix.

What was announced

CHS play Matsumoto's Ringo Music Festival in Nagano on September 27, then head to Tokyo for two solo shows: September 29 at Aoyama venue 月見ル君想フ (Tsukimi Ru Kimi Omou), and September 30 at 7th FLOOR in Shibuya. Both Tokyo dates feature a guest live act and a DJ set alongside CHS's own performance.

Sound and Japan-Taiwan ties

CHS is built on tight rhythms layered with humid, tropical psychedelic guitar and synth textures. The label describes the sound as blending Black music grooves, post-rock's repetitive structures, and shoegaze's hazy atmosphere.

The band has previously collaborated with Japanese artist mei ehara and Taiwanese rapper someshiit 山姆, and their self-organized festival The Grateful Camp has hosted Shintaro Sakamoto and YOUR SONG IS GOOD, reflecting long-standing ties with the Japanese and Taiwanese music scenes. Beyond the festival slot, the band has added two self-organized shows in Tokyo.
