Behind the album
Lovely Sunday is The Chairs' second album. The trio — Yong-ching, Chung-ying, and Po-yuan — went on hiatus in 2017, during which they met producer Huang Rong-yi (黃榮毅). The two sides clicked musically, and after more than a year of development, the album came together.
The band describes the record as blending retro, romantic, quirky, and psychedelic elements into a rock album, built around the image of "a beautiful Sunday afternoon in summer."
