Billy Idol Reworks "White Wedding" with Guitarist Steve Stevens for Apple Music's Rediscovered Series

Billy Idol is the latest guest on Apple Music's Rediscovered series, reuniting with longtime guitarist Steve Stevens at Apple Music Studios in Los Angeles to reinterpret two career-defining tracks: "White Wedding" and 1984's "Eyes Without a Face." The "White Wedding" performance video is already up on YouTube, and both performances will be released officially on Apple Music in spatial audio format.

Apple Music's Rediscovered series invites notable artists to re-record signature songs in stripped-down live arrangements at a Los Angeles studio. Past guests have included Goo Goo Dolls, Norah Jones, and Estelle. Idol's session follows the same format, reworking the hits with a pared-back live setup.

In a recent interview with People, Idol reflected on how "White Wedding" has evolved over more than 40 years — noting the song was originally meant to carry an "anti-marriage" edge, yet has since become a staple at actual weddings, taking on a very different meaning for listeners.

Beyond the studio session, Idol has a packed 2026 ahead. His U.S. tour kicks off August 7, 2026 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and wraps September 27 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In November, he'll be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside Oasis, Sade, Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Luther Vandross, Wu-Tang Clan, and Joy Division/New Order. He also received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the American Music Awards this past May, using his acceptance speech to look back on his start in punk in 1976.
