The Avalanches Announce Fourth Album No Bad Memories, Drop New Single "Can't Get Over Losing You"
Melbourne electronic outfit The Avalanches have announced their fourth studio album, No Bad Memories, set for release on October 16, 2026. Pre-orders are open now. The announcement comes with a new single, "Can't Get Over Losing You," featuring American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Portraits of Tracy on guest vocals.
The concept: jingles, startup sounds, and memory
The band says No Bad Memories draws on advertising jingles and the startup chimes of tech devices — sounds they describe as "both magical and insidious" in how they lodge in memory. The album is pitched as a conflicted ode to nostalgic jingles and the beeps of booting-up gadgets.
Member Robbie Chater said in a statement: "Looking back at the images and jingles of childhood, we were struck by how deeply they're imprinted in memory. We took apart these sound materials from the core of commercial media and reassembled them, flipping them into our own joyful pop music... and eventually arrived at the world of No Bad Memories."
The singles so far
Ahead of the album, four singles have now been released, with a lineup of guest vocalists:

- "Can't Get Over Losing You" feat. Portraits of Tracy (newest)
The new single builds on garage-rock drums layered with euphoric melodic lines and Portraits of Tracy's distinctive vocal delivery. Chater called Tracy "a talent of this generation," while Tracy said of the track: "I started writing this song in 2024, re-recorded it in 2025, and it sounds exactly like what we wanted it to feel like."
Live activity
The Avalanches recently played Primavera Sound Barcelona and have announced a headline London show in November as part of the London edition of Pitchfork Music Festival. Earlier this year, they also staged a surprise free party show in London.
