AURORA Marks 10th Anniversary of Debut Album With New Title Track and "The Moth Tapes" Reissue

Norwegian singer-songwriter AURORA is celebrating the 10th anniversary of her debut album All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend with a reissue titled All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend (The Moth Tapes), set for release on September 25. The reissue arrives alongside the previously unreleased title track "All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend."

Built around early recordings, demos, and unreleased material, the physical edition comes pressed on moth-themed vinyl and is currently available for pre-order. As NME notes, the 2016 debut was the album that first brought AURORA international attention.

Alongside the standard album tracks, the reissue includes demo versions of "The Silent Twins," "Running With The Wolves," and "Let Me Heal You," plus a demo of "Runaway" recorded on August 14, 2013.

"Runaway" unexpectedly went viral on social media in 2021, and saw renewed listening momentum again in 2026, with cumulative streams surpassing 3 billion. The track has also charted on Shazam in Nigeria, Vietnam, the Philippines, Norway, Indonesia, and Thailand.

The newly released title track pairs AURORA's signature ethereal vocals with a gradually building drum line, with the chorus repeating "my demons greeting me as a friend." AURORA has said these songs were written more than a decade ago, noting that "many of the stories have long since scattered," and that releasing unpolished work makes her feel vulnerable — but sometimes that's exactly what listeners need.

Recent Activity

Earlier this year, AURORA published her third book, also centered on the 10th anniversary of her debut album, featuring early notebooks and sketches, handwritten annotations, exclusive photography, behind-the-scenes material from early performances and shoots, and a collection of lyrics.

On the personal front, her most recent studio album is 2024's What Happened To The Heart?. Since then, she has formed the duo TOMORA with Tom Rowlands of The Chemical Brothers, releasing their debut album Come Closer this year. Tracks "Somewhere Else" and "In A Minute" drew attention as music used in UK television broadcasts of the 2026 World Cup. The album received a four-star review from NME, and the duo will embark on a UK and European tour in October.
