Apple's New London Venue Apple Music Hall Opens With Elton John, Charli XCX and Troye Sivan on First Bill
Apple has built a new 600-capacity venue, Apple Music Hall, inside London's Battersea Power Station, opening on Monday, September 28 with Elton John headlining the first show. According to NME, the initial run of dates announced stretches from September through December and includes Baby Keem, Skye Newman, Troye Sivan, Arlo Parks, Burna Boy, Chase & Status and Charli XCX. The venue itself was only unveiled publicly earlier this week, pitched as combining the intimacy of a small club with the production capability of a much larger room.

What the room is built for
Apple Music Hall runs a reconfigurable 38-foot-wide stage with a 48-speaker Spatial Audio system, plus two dedicated recording and mixing studios on site. The space is also wired with more than 16 cameras and its own broadcast control room, meaning shows can be recorded and livestreamed globally straight from the venue.
Elton John's selective post-retirement shows
Elton John's "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour ended in July 2023 at Stockholm's Tele2 Arena after more than 300 shows, and he has only made occasional appearances since. In October 2024, he joined Dua Lipa for her Royal Albert Hall orchestral show, duetting on "Cold Heart."
Last March, he and Brandi Carlile played a single show at the London Palladium to promote their collaborative album Who Believes In Angels?, mixing new material with classics like "Tiny Dancer," "Your Song" and "Bennie And The Jets"; the pair also appeared on Saturday Night Live the following month. He went on to close out the Singapore Grand Prix in October 2025, performed "God Only Knows" in tribute to Brian Wilson at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony the next month, and topped the bill at Brazil's Rock In Rio this month. He also announced in July two Mexico City shows on October 2 and 3, making up dates canceled during the pandemic.
Charli XCX released Music, Fashion, Film in July and is currently on the accompanying tour; NME gave the album four stars.
