Icelandic-Chinese singer-songwriter Laufey has announced the fourth edition of her annual global fan event, A Very Laufey Day, set for Sunday, August 23, 2026, spanning more than 75 cities across 25 countries. This year's theme, "A Celebration of the Arts," centers on the music, film, dance, theater and literature that shape her songwriting, with activities ranging from live performances to museum exhibitions and gatherings at libraries, bookstores, cafés and ice cream shops. The news was first reported by NME.

The centerpiece this year is a series of candlelight concerts — Candlelight: A Very Laufey Day — held in 10 cities worldwide, featuring string quartet arrangements of Laufey's songs. Confirmed venues include:
- Berlin, Germany @ Französischer Dom

- Chicago, IL @ The Congress Plaza Hotel & Convention Center
- London, UK @ The Great Hall – Barts North Wing

Alongside the concerts, the concert film Night at the Symphony: Hollywood Bowl will screen at the GRAMMY Museum's Clive Davis Theater and select AMC Theatres locations in the US. Bookstore meetups will also sell limited-edition "A Very Laufey Day" merchandise and specialty drinks.
Why it's setting the tone this way
Speaking to the Associated Press, Laufey said this year's theme is about spotlighting art and culture and lowering the barrier between her largely Gen Z and Gen Alpha audience and so-called "high culture" experiences, while building connections with orchestras, museums and galleries.
Recent context: A Matter Of Time
Laufey's third album, A Matter Of Time, was released in August 2025 and received a four-star review from NME, which called it as lush as her previous work but shadowed with more depth. Earlier this year she released a deluxe edition of the album featuring four new tracks and a reimagined version of "Madwoman," featuring KATSEYE's Megan Skiendiel, Heated Rivalry actor Hudson Williams, The Summer I Turned Pretty's Lola Tung, and US Olympic figure skating gold medalist Alysa Liu.
Prior to this, Laufey was named the featured artist for Fortnite's music spinoff game, Festival, following previous artists including Chappell Roan, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish and The Weeknd. The collaboration includes several of her songs added to the game, along with emotes and cosmetic items inspired by her A Matter Of Time tour.
