Wolf Alice Make Green Man Debut, Bring Out Anna Calvi for Surprise Duet

North London four-piece Wolf Alice played the Mountain Stage at Wales' Green Man Festival on Sunday, August 23, 2026 — their first-ever appearance at the festival. Midway through the set, they brought out surprise guests Anna Calvi and Dove Ellis for a live performance of "Sunday Light," their recent collaborative track for the War Child charity compilation Help(2), followed by a cover of Mazzy Star's "Fade Into You." Fan-shot footage has since circulated on social media. Per NME, the show also fell on the one-year anniversary of the band's album The Clearing.
On stage: the first festival airing of the full "Sunday Light" lineup
"Sunday Light" was originally recorded with Wolf Alice singer Ellie Rowsell alongside Dove Ellis, Anna Calvi, and Nilüfer Yanya for Help(2). Producer James Ford told NME earlier this year that Calvi "wanted multiple voices" on the track, describing the finished song as heavy and mournful — something like a funeral march, but beautiful.
Beyond the two guest numbers, the band also ran through a set of older favorites, including "Bros," "Don't Delete The Kisses," "Moaning Lisa Smile," and "Giant Peach."
A year of The Clearing, and where the band stands now
The Clearing is Wolf Alice's second UK No. 1 album, and earned the band a fourth consecutive Mercury Prize nomination along with a BRIT Award. Bassist Theo Ellis has said in past interviews that making the record was itself a challenge, with some parts difficult to pull off live — but that sense of pushing past what they'd already achieved felt exciting. Earlier this summer, the band played a large homecoming show at London's Finsbury Park, which NME reviewed with five stars.
What's next: opening for Olivia Rodrigo in North America
Wolf Alice will next serve as an opening act for the first North American leg of Olivia Rodrigo's "Unraveled Tour." Other special guests on the same run include The Last Dinner Party, Devon Again, Die Spitz, and Grace Ives.
