Taipei's Wildlab Venue Faces Sept–Oct Closure Over Leak Repairs, Multiple Shows Cancelled or Postponed
Wildlab (wildlab.tw), a live music venue in Taipei, has posted an update on its official Instagram about an ongoing water leak issue. The venue says repair and diagnostic work is now expected to run at least from September through October, and that a number of previously scheduled shows will be cancelled or postponed during that window.
What caused the leak
According to the venue, the building's contractor, landlord, and a technician recently conducted another on-site inspection. They have narrowed the possible source to either a drainage channel or the building's utility shaft, but say the actual cause can't be confirmed without physical excavation.
Because the repair involves coordination between multiple parties — including the contractor and landlord — the timeline is not something the venue can set on its own. Their current estimate is that repair and diagnostic work will span at least two months, from September into October.
Impact on the show calendar
This means a number of events originally booked at Wildlab during this period will need to be cancelled or rescheduled. The venue says affected promoters and performers are being contacted individually as decisions are finalized, and that confirmed changes will be announced to audiences as soon as possible.
In its post, Wildlab apologized to performers and promoters who had already been rehearsing, as well as to ticket holders who had arranged travel and accommodation around scheduled shows, noting that "a cancelled show isn't just a missing date on a calendar."
Accountability still being worked out
The venue says follow-up repairs, clarifying responsibility among the parties involved, and related coordination are all still in progress. Wildlab says it will not make promises it can't keep before repairs are finished, and will share confirmed updates as they become available.
