Trentemøller Announces Self-Titled Album, Enlists Mew's Jonas Bjerre for New Single

Danish producer Trentemøller has announced a new self-titled album, Trentemøller, alongside lead single "Terrified," which features guest vocals from Jonas Bjerre, frontman of Danish band Mew. The news was reported by Stereogum on August 28, 2026. The label has not yet announced a release date or full tracklist.

The single: "Terrified"

According to Stereogum, Trentemøller's recent work has been steadily pushing toward shoegaze, and this lead single represents him taking that direction as far as it's gone yet.

Bjerre's appearance continues Trentemøller's long-running pattern of collaborating with vocalists from rock and indie scenes, and lends the track a vocal texture closer to Nordic dream-pop.

From glitch to shoegaze

Trentemøller's career began in electronic production, with a body of work spanning glitch, downtempo, and darkwave before extending into dream-pop and synthwave — each phase marked by a distinct sound.

Stereogum frames the recent shoegaze turn not as a break from that history but as a continuation of it: a gradual shift in balance from electronic textures toward guitar and vocals. This new self-titled album is his latest step in that direction.
