Sonic Shaman Festival Reveals Second Lineup Wave: 9 More Acts, Including a 9,500km B2B Set
Taipei electronic music festival Sonic Shaman has dropped its second lineup wave, adding 9 acts under the banner "SECOND WAVE IS HERE." The announcement spans Taiwanese electronic music, Indonesian experimental sound, Swiss dance music, and performance art, with the festival confirmed to take place at RS289 by Jut in Taipei. Organizers say more names will be revealed in further batches.
Four strands in the new lineup
The announcement frames the second wave around four threads: a figure described as a godfather of Taiwanese electronic music, Primal-Core — an act described as having grown out of Indonesia's forests, a Zurich-based DJ who weaves South Indian rhythms into dance music, and a Swiss performance-art act with a provocative edge.
The one format singled out for special mention is a back-to-back (b2b) DJ set pairing a Taipei-based DJ with a Zurich-based DJ — a collaboration the organizers note spans roughly 9,500 kilometers between the two cities, making it the only specific programming element called out individually in this announcement.
Swiss backing behind the lineup
Several acts in this wave have Swiss backgrounds, and the organizers thanked Pro Helvetia (the Swiss Arts Council) and Temperatio for their support. Both organizations back international projects by Swiss artists, which lines up with the Zurich DJ and Swiss performance-art act featured in this wave.
